SSM ToolBox

TB_4
The CAD North SSM Toolbox is a low cost MapPoint add-on application that automates a number of key analysis processes to speed up and simplify your System Status Plan development.

The SSM Toolbox performs a number of tasks critical to deployment plan development and optimization by automatically analyzing your post plan and reporting on its expected effectiveness in achieving your response time goals.

By using the SSM Toolbox for MapPoint, you will be able to step through and accurately evaluate all your “What-If” deployment vs. demand scenarios in a small fraction of the time it would take to do manually.

The SSM Toolbox provides tools to create response zones around your posts and get a detailed analysis of demand capture, all with just a few clicks of your mouse. You can also create speed profiles to examine the impact of different traffic flow patterns on your post placement decisions.

The SSM Toolbox will help you answer the tough questions about deployment and give you the confidence that you can achieve your system performance goals.

TB_6The SSM Toolbox calculates the number of incidents in your demand layer that fall within each of the post response zones and reports the following values:

Rank - The ordinal ranking of the post in the current plan based on its “Capture” value
Name - The Name of the post
Raw Cnt - The number of total incidents that fall within the post’s response zone
Raw Pct - The percentage of incidents that fall within the post’s response zone
Capture - The number of incidents that fall within the post’s response zone that have not already been captured by some other post
Percent - The percentage of incidents that fall within the post’s response zone that have not already been captured by some other post
Subtotal - The running subtotal of incidents captured by the current post plan
Running % - The running percentage of total incidents captured by the current post plan

The difference between the “Raw Cnt” and “Capture” (and their respective percentages) is that the “Raw” columns treat each post individually and without regard to overlapping response zones. The “Capture” columns remove the incidents captured by one post before evaluating any others so that each incident is counted only once and the effects of overlapping response zones is taken into consideration.
